Chalgrove Festival 10K Race Announcement

It is with great sadness that the Organisers, who are retiring, announce that the Race will cease as of now in its current form, as we have been unable to recruit sufficient volunteers to continue the organisation. Should anyone come forward in the future, we would be happy to pass on our experience and expertise. If you would like to be part of a team rekindling the event for 2024, please contact us at info@chalgrovefestival10k.com.

In the years since the first race in 2010 we have been able to contribute substantially to the running of the Festival, and we have supported, among others, the WI, the School, the Scouts, Help for Heroes…

We have also brought many non-runners to the Festival by encouraging runners to bring their families, as entertainment is available for all, which in turn helps to promote the Village.

We have also encouraged more runners out on to the streets, improving their health and fitness; we generally have had at least fifty Chalgrove residents entering the race, and instituted a prize especially for them. We should like to thank all those who have taken part, and especially the few of you who have managed the complete set!

We should like to pay tribute to all our friends, colleagues, sponsors and companies - and runners - who have supported us since 2010.

Thank you.

Chris, Colin, Dave, David, Ian and Kirsty

View our course in less than 5 minutes

We are proud to boast one of Oxfordshire's most scenic courses with an undulating 10K single lap race through local villages and the surrounding South Oxfordshire countryside.  The start and finish is at the Chalgrove Village Festival ground and there will be a drink station just past the 5K marker.  Check out our Photo Gallery to view previous races.
The event is run in support of the annual Chalgrove Village Festival and we would love you to bring your friends and families along. In previous years there has been plenty to see and do, with many activities: arena displays, funfair, beer tent, food and much more.
We also provide parking for a small charge (passed on to local charities) which is only 5-10 minutes walk along a country footpath, but if you have friends and family who may have difficulty using the footpath please contact us in advance. As in previous years, Barry Cornelius plans to take photographs of this race for publication on his website http://www.oxonraces.co.uk/ and for possible use by the press. You will be able to download his photos free of charge.  If you do not wish your image to appear as a significant part of any photograph that he publishes on the web or provides to the press, please write NO across your race number. If you are under 18, please ensure that your parent/carer is happy for photos of you taken at the race to be published on the web.  Red markers will be provided at the Race HQ for this purpose.
